THE CHALLENGE
THE CHALLENGE
THE CHALLENGE

How do you market a product that’s defined by experience and touch without the user ever touching it?

This was the tension behind the DRESSTHING keyboard campaign. While mechanical keyboards are beloved for their tactile feel, most product visuals only show the object, but not the experience.

Flat tech demos fail to convey the nuance of sound, resistance, feedback, and rhythm that define a keyboard’s emotional identity.

The product’s real value was in its tactile feel. Folding, clicking, resting in the hand. But without touch, the online experience would feet flat.

THE HPI APPROACH
THE HPI APPROACH
THE HPI APPROACH

At Art Layers Studio, we don't only show buttons but
surface the rhythm, the weight, the delight. Turning each keycap into a felt moment.

This gap mirrors our core insight:

“Products lose tactility… Function can’t sell experience… Products without story lose value.”

THE INSIGHT
THE INSIGHT

We were challenged to show how the product lives in the human’s life. What it feels like to experience it before ever holding it in real life.

This meant translating experience into detailed tactile animation. Not abstract beauty shots, but real, relatable interaction. Humans are wired to connect through what feels understood.

That’s why we showed the unique stages of using this keyboard.
Assembly. Modularity. Precision.
If you love customizing things, this keyboard is for you, it’s fully modular. You can assemble it from scratch using the tiniest parts: bolts, screws, magnetic hinges.

Products lose tactility.
We bring it back.

Visual Process

01. Discover & Define

We dug into the keyboard’s soul: what it feels like to type on it.
Is it snappy? Smooth? Confident?

We mapped the emotional gestures behind each key, the moment of impact, rebound, and rhythm.

02. Design & Animate

Every motion became deliberate:

  1. Soft-then-snap bounce

  2. Micro-vibrations on click

  3. Layered shadow for depth

  4. Choreographed camera shifts that simulate touch

These made the viewer feel present, not just observing.

03. Deliver & Optimize

We created tailored assets, short clips and looping micro-scenes. Perfect for ads, landing pages, and social media.
Each visual emphasized the product’s tactile identity, ensuring every channel carried the same signature feel.

The Sound Layer

Sound was the bridge to the final touch of the emotion.

We used Ableton Live to sync every micro-movement with sound. Not just for timing, but for feeling. Feel like you need a snap in frame 23? The sound lands exactly there, like a heartbeat you can’t ignore.

Many of the effects were recorded by hand. Snapping real hinges, rubbing textures, pressing keys, until it all felt true.

Because when you can’t touch the product, sound becomes the touch. It gives weight, rhythm, and presence.

By simulating feeling through motion and sound, we helped DRESSTHING transform a tactile tool into an emotional signature, one that builds trust, memory, and desire.

You sense the resistance, the rebound, the precision, and suddenly, it’s familiar. It’s yours.
